The North Sea coastline around St Andrews is famous for sweeping sandy bays on either side of a rocky headland. Preserved and listed, the St Andrews Cathedral and nearby St Andrews Castle make an interesting day trip. The route follows the East Neuk of Fife, through picturesque fishing villages such as Elie, Anstruther, Crail, St Monans and Pittenweem.
